Talks with the Iranian Regime Are Fruitless: Non-Proliferation Expert

Negotiations with the Iranian regime over its nuclear program are unproductive, the head of an international non-proliferation body said last week, according to the Russian daily Moskovskiy Komsomolets and the Iranian state-run ISNA news agency.

The Supervisory Council of the International Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe held a meeting in Moscow on December 8.

The President of the Forum, Viatcheslav Kantor, was quoted as saying that to the extent that fruitless negotiations with the Iranian regime drag on over its nuclear program, the regime will get closer to obtaining nuclear weapons.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ryabkov and former US Defense Secretary in the Clinton administration, William Perry, also took part in the meeting.
