Anti-nuclear bods arrive in Vienna this week to discuss arms control and non-proliferation.

The International Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe will host a meeting with politicians and leading experts in arms control and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Organisers said today (Tues) US Assistant Secretary Rose Gottemoeller and high-level officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) – which is headquartered in Vienna – were expected to take part this Thursday and Friday (8 and 9 April).

Key discussion issues will be disarmament, reduction of strategic arms, and developments in Iranian and North-Korean nuclear programmes.

The International Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe was established in 2007. It claims to be the largest expert institution of its kind.
