Bill to Safeguard Nuclear Achievements Approved

The Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) approved here on Sunday the bill on safeguarding the nuclear achievements to counter the US and UK plots in this regard.

The emergency bill was finalized after being reviewed by the MPs after the outline of it garnered 181 votes in favor, three against and six abstentions from the members of parliament who were present in the Sunday Majlis open session.

By finalization of the bill, the Iranian government is obliged to make the country self-sufficient in various fields of peaceful nuclear technology.

The bill also gives permission to the government to counter actions by those states who strive for inspection of the Iranian ships or refuse to supply fuel to the country’s planes.

The bill is comprehensive and consists of five articles within the framework of Iran’s commitments to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Recently, the United Nations Security Council and the US along with some European states have taken measures to make the country cease its “peaceful” nuclear activities.
