Salehi In Moscow to Discuss Iran, Russia Tie

Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi arrived in Moscow on Tuesday evening for a 2-day visit to discuss bilateral ties, regional and international issues with Russian officials.

He is scheduled to talk with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Salehi visit to Moscow is upon an invitation extended by his Russian counterpart; he is to consider bilateral ties and cooperation in international relations.

Salehi is to deliver a speech in diplomatic academy of Russian Foreign Ministry, too.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said today that in negotiation between the two foreign ministers, regional issues have an important position.

He expressed hope that in the meeting, approaches concerning Central Asia, Caucasus, the Caspian Sea, Afghanistan situation, the Middle East and North Africa situations would be considered.

Salehi discussed issues of mutual interest with Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev here in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon before leaving for Moscow.
