Hans Blix
Chairman of the Weapon of Mass Destruction Commission.
Born 28 June 1928 in Uppsala, Sweden.
Studied at Uppsala University and Columbia University, earning his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge In 1959; graduated in International Law at the University of Stockholm.
1962 - 1978 - member of the Swedish delegation at the Disarmament Conference in Geneva.
1963 - 1976 - served as the Adviser on International Law in the MFA.
In 1976 - 1978 - State Secretary for International Development Co-operation.
1978 -1979 - Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden.
1981 -1997 - He served as Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
2000 - 2003 Executive Chairman of the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC).
Author of several books on subjects associated with international and constitutional law and international affairs.
